So I made my first itunes mix and figured since my journal is music based, I'd share it here. It's an 80's mix, one of my favorite periods of music. I made this collection for easy listening in my car to/from work. So it was important to have songs that didn't get on my nerves and that I liked to sing along with. So I hope you enjoy this and maybe it will remind you of a few forgotten tunes...

Guess I'm not a real tori fan, as I seem to be the only one dissapointed with tori's new album. Filled with non memorable songs and filler interludes. I feel like her message was lost in the song arrangements and characters. I will say some songs will jam live, like bouncing of the clouds and dark side of the sun.
I'm enjoying my new Fiest album quite a bit, and the new Bjork holds more promise. And I get to go see Damien Rice on the 11th, without Lisa which is a total bummer!

So Every week Itunes sends me an email with the new music for the week and a featured celebrity playlist. Was listening to Drew Barrymore's little list and thought what songs would make my list? While far less people will give a crap about my list, I decided to play it like a celebrity. Here are 25 ditties(most of which are available on itunes) that make up the matter referred to as, Rachel:

Don't panic/Coldplay - Reminds me that the world is an OK place to be.
Good Fortune/PJ Harvey - Guaranteed to get me pulled over on the highway as I jam out at high speeds.
The Seed (2.0)/The Roots & Cody Chestnutt - Makes even a wallflower want to dance.
I'll be around/The Spinners - guaranteed to have you snapping or tapping something. Good vibes period.
One Trick Pony/Nelly Furtado - Takes me back to her live concert where I scored first row seats.

Not really pleased with how it came out, was somewhat inspired by A Scanner Darkly. A film that is live action but it has been drawn over to look like a comic. Yeah so I'm still kicking! Sorry it's been so long since I've posted; "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." However I felt the need to make time to write my now 2nd annual "pick a cause" post. I hope that you'll consider visiting the following sites and making yourself more knowledgeable about the causes...maybe you'll even decide to donate.

For the New Year, I hope everyone takes a moment to be grateful for what they have. Don't worry about how many Gucci bags Paris Hilton has and you don't. You are not model or a celebrity...you don't NEED that crap. Don't take for granted your own beauty and "gold;" you are unique and precious...remember this when the world tries to change you. Be good to yourself and other people, don't forget to be geniune and kind in these efforts. Best wishes to you and yours! Here's to 2007...

Small update

Just a small update. I've got a new(well its actually used depending how long you've been a friend here!) layout going...decided to go back to the "darkenss." I've also put a disclaimer about credit on the front page, due to some recent developments. Please be respectful of the work here and all you LURKERS! Just because you aren't on LJ doesn't mean the rules don't apply to you. Any out of the ordinary uses of my art need to be cleared by me first, if you are unsure about what this details, it doesn't hurt to ask. I hope not to have to become more vigilant about the subject.

So these are some icons I made with the help of your guys feedback. thanks for posting your fav lyrics and your kind words, I really appreciate it. What lyrics I didn't use this time around I'll use in upcoming work(paticulary pele/concertina lyrics). Kind of mixed bag here, some icons are just lyrics while other have a central non-tori photo, I'm curous to see which ones you like. I'm a little disappointed with some of the remakes I had to do thanks to the electricty, but I'm my own worst critic. Enjoy

So I was waiting in the dr office this morning, while they attempt to figure out whats wrong with me...When a little old woman turned to me. "Do you ever wish you could just start the day over again?"
The only thing I could think to say was, "Most of my life."
She continued to tell me how she locked her self out of the house...with keys in hand. I laughed and related, not knowing that my own day would go downhill from that point on. I had planned to post the lyric icons I made in response to your guys requests. A brown-out here had different plans, so I lost some work..which I'm trying to re-create...thats assuming I can remember what I created. So that to come soon, I haven't forgotten about the project(just everything else haha).

In the mean time what else did you all want me to make? Love bars, more icons, headers? let me know if you have any thoughts and will see what I can do...health and electricity abiding.
